RiverFest – Celebrating our Wild & Scenic Rivers

This weekend is RiverFest, celebrating the 10th anniversary of the Wild & Scenic designation for the Sudbury, Concord, and Assabet Rivers.

Head over to the Sudbury, Assabet, and Concord River Stewardship Council’s web site for all the activities taking place on the rivers all weekend.   I’ll be at some events sponsored by the Organization for the Assabet River on Sunday.

Each year the Sudbury Valley Trustees sponsors a photography contest for Riverfest and I decided to send three pictures in.  The photo above, titled “Tree Fall” won “Best in Show”!  The photo of the Billerica Dam on the Concord River titled “Liquid Light” won “Best River” photograph, and my “Munching Muskrat” earned 2nd place in the “Flora and Fauna” category (not bad for a rodent!).

All of the winning photographs will be on display at the Minuteman National Historic Park in Concord through Riverfest.

I’m quite flattered that they liked my photographs but I really hope that people who visit the park and view our photographs will see the true beauty of the rivers that flow through our communities.

Congratulations! I’m amazed at how much color you capture in the river’s reflections.
