We thought it might be fun to get out of the house after the Christmas holiday so we decided to do a bit of planning for the coming year. We’ve always wanted to visit the Osprey nest sites in Westport and thought it would be a good idea to get a sense of the landscape before we head out with the kayaks. We also wanted to visit the Sachuest Point NWR to check out their visitor center and perhaps snag some shots of harlequin ducks or gannets that frequent the area. We were a bit surprised to arrive there to a packed parking lot. Later we learned that a Snowy Owl was in the vicinity and that’s what was attracting the crowds. Once again, some of the best photographs happen after the sun goes down.
